Bangladesh Football Stadium Pics

With the rise of cricket in Bangladesh, there has been a flurry of stadiums built all over Bangladesh. In 2004, Bangladesh hosted the Under 19 Cricket World Cup where many new Divisional Cricket stadiums were created but to be used for cricket.

However, there are still a few stadiums in Bangladesh, which are still exclusive to football:

  1. Bangabandhu National Stadium (BNS) in Dhaka, built in the 1950's with a capacity of 36,000, and only FIFA approved international football venue in the country.
  2. M.A. Aziz stadium in Chittagong, built in the 1950's with a capacity of 20,000.
  3. Kamlapur Stadium in Dhaka, built in 2003 with a capacity of 20,000 which plays host to league matches which are not played at the BNS.

Local to Sylheti's, which are used for football (jointly with cricket), are the following stadiums:
  1. M.A.G Osmani Stadium in Sylhet, built in the 1960's with a capacity of 20,000.
  2. M. Safiur Rahman Stadium in Moulvibazar, built in 2005 with a capacity of 15,000.

Thanks for this post. I've never even thought about football in Bangladesh, to be frank, but it was very interesting to see these pictures. Would be great to see more, particularly shots during games.
