The Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) has decided go for a full-fledged drive by involving ex-players, organisers and the clubs of the capital to make its fund raising charity matches successful.
Abahani and Mohammedan will be involved in a charity series of three-matches in Dhaka on December 3rd, 5th and 7th, to raise funds for the victims of cyclone Sidr. Both the clubs have extended their full support to the BFF for this cause.
The first meeting of the 21-member committee formed for the series was held yesterday at the BFF Bhaban with co-chairman and Mohammedan secretary Lokman Hossain Bhuiyan in chair.
"We have agreed to work hard to make it a success," said BFF acting general secretary and member-secretary of the committee Manzoor Hossain Malu.
"We want every match to be a full-house and want to involve players, organisers and the other clubs apart from Abahani and Mohammedan to work with us.
"We will emphasise on ticket sales and our target is to make some pushing-sell," Malu added.
Three sub-committees - finance, publicity and law and order - were also formed yesterday.
The finance committee will soon finalise the rate of tickets.
The BFF is also planning to stage a concert at the Bangabandhu National Stadium - venue of the three matches - on December 8 but it has yet to get permission of the National Sports Council.
