BFF Polls Announced

The election of the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) will be held on January 19, the football's governing body of the country announced yesterday.

The decision was taken at an emergency meeting of the executive committee, which has been running the show under FIFA instructions despite its tenure expired last April. FIFA has given the executive committee a maximum of one year to make amendments to its constitution according to FIFA statutes.

BFF acting general secretary Manzoor Hossain Malu informed that the polls for the football associations of districts and divisions will have be completed by December 5 and 14 respectively.

"We have agreed to follow all FIFA directives regarding the election. We have decided that no government officials will have voting rights at the district and divisional associations according to their recent instructions," Malu said.
