Just want to say that I have finally created the BanglaFootball.net Forum!

So sign up, and start discussing anything related to Bangladesh football and more. Don't be shy now, the forum needs as many new members as possible, in order to create a healthy discussion area.

See you there!

Should I Get a Forum?

I've been thinking about it lately. I know I had one before and it wasn't popular but that was when this site hardly had any visitors. Plus, it was a a crap free forum so it may have put people off. Now, if I do install a forum, I plan to use SMF, so the quality will be much better.

The reason I have been thinking about it is that a lot of people ask similar questions but they write them in any post, such as the 888.com advert. That is just a advert, yet it has over 30 comments. Also, a lot of the questions get lost within the vast number of comments so can be hard to address them. Oh, and most people appear anonymous too...

So what do you think? Vote in the poll in the right sidebar and leave any additional comments below.

Looking forward to getting some feedback.

New Mohammedan Wallpaper Added

Mohammedan SC Dhaka Wallpaper Preview
I have (finally) created and uploaded a new wallpaper. It's a wallpaper for Mohammedan fans. I don't support Mohammedan (I don't support any club actually, just Bangladesh football in general) but as they are one of the biggest clubs in Bangladesh, I thought why not?

However, I will create more wallpapers, hopefully for each and every club. The next one will most likely be an Abahani wallpaper, so if you're an Abahani fan, subscribe to our RSS feed to make sure you don't miss out!

That's it for now, enjoy!

PS. If you would like to submit any wallpapers for BanglaFootball.net, please contact me.

Senior Division Football League Coverage

I have finally decided to post news on the Metropolis Senior Division Football League. I know the season is well underway, but with no other major tournaments being played right now, I thought that BanglaFootball.net might go through a dry period without it. I have no idea why I didn't post news on the Senior Division Football League when it first started, so don't ask me. Perhaps I thought that there would be a lack of interest.

Anyway, a bit of info on the league now, for those of you who aren't aware. These are the teams participating:

  • Arambagh KS
  • Badda Jagoroni Sangsad
  • Victoria SC
  • Dhaka Wanderers Club
  • Youngmens Club
  • Dipali Jubo Sangha
  • Mohakhali XI
  • Wari Club
  • Agrani Bank SC
  • Purbachal Porishad
  • City Club
  • Jatrabari KC
  • Sunrise SC
Matches are played at the Bangabandhu National Stadium and the Kamalapur Stadium, both in Dhaka.

Suggestion Box

BanglaFootball.net has gone from strength to strength in the past year or so. But I want to know what could make it even better. So this is an open post for people to suggest things that they think will take BanglaFootball.net to the next level.

Is there anything you would like to see?

Or perhaps there is something you don't like about the current site?

I'm open to constructive criticism as well. This is your chance to have a say. So fire away...

PS. Don't forget to subscribe to our RSS feed in a reader, or via email (100% spam free). If you don't know what RSS is, then please read this.

RSS Feeds from BanglaFootball.net

RSS ButtonWhat are RSS Feeds?

RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feeds allow you to see when websites have added new content. You can get the latest headlines and video in one place, as soon as its published, without having to visit the websites you have taken the feed from.

How do I start using feeds?

In general, the first thing you need is something called a news reader. This is a piece of software that checks the feeds and lets you read any new articles that have been added. There are many different versions, some of which are accessed using a browser, and some of which are downloadable applications.

Browser-based news readers let you catch up with your RSS feed subscriptions from any computer, whereas downloadable applications let you store them on your main computer, in the same way that you either download your e-mail using Outlook, or keep it on a web-based service like Hotmail.

RSS Feeds from BanglaFootball.net

Once you have chosen a news reader, you need to tell it what content you wish to receive. If you click on the RSS button you can subscribe to the feed in various ways, including by dragging the URL of the feed into your news reader or by cutting and pasting the same URL into a new feed in your news reader.

It's too complicated. Can't I just receive new content via email?

Yes! Just click on the email link besides the RSS link, and enter your email address. You will get an email when there is new Bangladesh football content, which you can read directly from your inbox.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!BanglaFootball.net has gone from strength to strength in the past year, and we aim to get even stronger this year. Hopefully the new B. League season will be a success and the national team get some decent results. We will be right here to keep you updated on all the news in the world of Bangladesh football, so make sure you subscribe to our RSS feed in a reader or via email. Many have already subscribed and I would like to thank them for doing that. When I see that people have actually subscribed to receive updates from BanglaFootball.net, it strives me make the site bigger and better.

A few updates about the site now. Firstly, I have decided to scrap the forum idea as it proved unpopular and I guess that's justified given the situation of football in Bangladesh, at the moment. But that doesn't mean it won't be coming back... who knows what the future holds.

Secondly, you may have noticed that there is an 888.com post at the top of this site. That post has been sponsored to stay at the top there for a while. It helps with costs so I hope you guys don't mind.

Finally, any of you who have visited the site in the last couple of days will have seen a new template. At first, when I saw the template on another site, I thought it looked good and that it would be something nice for the new year. So I implemented it to BanglaFootball.net, but after a couple of days I realised that I don't really like it. So I decided to change it back to the original one yesterday, which I am more than happy with. Just thought that everyone warranted an explanation as to what was going on and show that I've not gone crazy.

Oh, one more thing, almost forgot. I've now added a rating system to each post so now you can rate every story out of a maximum of 5 stars. Go ahead, try it out and rate this post!

That's it for now, happy new year!

All Club Pages Now Published

I have finally gotten around to creating a page for each club that competed in the B. League 2006-07. You can check them out here.

As you may notice, only Mohammedan Sporting Club have any type of history on their page, and the rest are rather empty. This is because I have no knowledge or information available to me, about these clubs. If you know anything or can point to any web resource with more information, then please contact me.

First Guest Contributor and Google Page Rank

As some of you may have noticed, there are times (e.g. last month) that I am not able to update the site. This is due to me being too busy with other things in life. So, to make sure that this does not happen again, I have hired the help of someone else. This person is Anamul Hassan. He is a huge fan of Bangladesh football and I'm sure he will do a great job. He has already begun posting news and features, which you may already be aware of.

This is a big step forward for BanglaFootball.net, and I would like to officially welcome Anamul as our first ever Guest Contributor.

Also, I am pleased to announce that Google have finally updated their page rankings, and this site has deservedly moved from PageRank 0 to PageRank 4. We are also steadily moving up the search pages (mostly in the top 5) in all major search engines, for the keywords "Bangladesh football".

Lastly, to celebrate all the good news, I have finally designed a site banner that I am quite proud of. I hope you all like it too.

Please keep supporting this site by visiting our sponsors, which can be found above and around this post.

New Domain Name

I am pleased to announce that I have (finally) bought a top level domain for this site. You can now find us at www.banglafootball.net.

Meanwhile, you can still find this site by using old addresses such as banglafootball.co.nr, bangladeshfootball.tk and of course, banglafootball.blogspot.com.

New Bangladesh Football Site

I started to follow BD football about two or three years back and started looking on the net for good informative sites. The biggest and best(?) I found was banglafootball.com. However I realised that this was out of date for a number of years. So I decided to make my own site. And a few days later, BanglaFootball.co.nr was born.

Please comment on the site.
